Department of Public Health

Under the direct supervision of director of medical services, the section has the functions; a) support the implementation of GBV programme plan in the country, b) monitor the quality of GBV services at the health facilities, community and the population levels c) ensure effective sectoral and multi-sectoral coordination related to the GBV activities across the country, d) document lessons learned related to the implementation of GBV related interventions.

Under the direct supervision of director of medical services, the section has the functions; a) support the implementation of New born and Child Health programme plan in the country, b) monitor the quality of Child Health services at the health facilities, community and the population levels c) ensure effective coordination related to the Child Health activities across the country, d) document lessons learned related to the implementation of Child Health related interventions.

The goal of the department function is to ensure integrated public health services, including promotive, presentive and curative servies availables at different levels of health services to ensure reduction of related morbidity and mortality of the country.

Under the supervision of Director General of the Ministry of Health, the Department is responsible on the following function: a) supporting the planning process of communicable and non-communicable diseases, including TB, HIV, Malaria, neglected tropical disease, mental health, EPI and Nutrition Programmes as well as health promotion activities in the country, b) mapping of the availability of the related programmes in the health facilities, hospitals and communities, b) monitoring the quality of related service provision in the country, c) document lessons learned related to the implementation of the programmes.
